Ygritte Fan Art – “You Know Nothing, Jon Snow”

Games of Thrones character Ygritte is featured in this fantastic piece of fan art by CGHUB artist jigokuen, who says he’s a fan of the books. As you can see the illustration comes with the following quote, “You know nothing, Jon Snow.”

This is quite exception fan art, so thought it should be posted.  What do you think?

Rose Leslie reveals Ygritte and Jon Snow’s Relationship ‘Heats Up’ in Season 3

In one week season 3 will finally be here and like us, many of you are probably looking forward to seeing how Ygritte and Jon Snow’s relationship is going to evolve.  Rose Leslie, who portrays Ygritte, has given a few hints as to how things are going to play out between the two in a recent interview with The Huffington Post!

HuffPost TV: What can viewers expect from Ygritte in Season 3?
Rose Leslie: We see a lot more of Ygritte in Season 3, and we see the relationship between her and Jon Snow develop on their journey. It’s far more intense. We also see her boundaries break down; she’s an incredibly strong and powerful woman, but she does soften a little bit when it comes to Jon Snow.

Speaking of Jon Snow, are things going to heat up between her and Jon this season?
You do see the relationship between the two of them flourish, so to speak. But without giving away too much to spoil it, yes — it does heat up.

How did your real relationship with Kit play into things on set?
Kit is a very good friend of mine and we got on well. We have similar senses of humour. The fact that we are friends off-set really does help with our characters on-screen and we are able to bounce off each other more fluidly. But also it’s incredible to be able to work off of someone like Kit because he is so talented and he allows you to play. That is a lovely thing.

In Season 2 we see Ygritte tease and toy with Jon Snow quite a bit. What does Ygritte really think of him?
At the end of Season 2 she’s ultimately incredibly intrigued by this man. I don’t think she’s ever come across anybody like Jon Snow in her life. He’s a bit opposite of the wildling men she had been growing up with and that she’s used to. She’s a little bit dumbfounded by Jon Snow but she wants to try and understand him. She’s also a bit baffled; he takes himself so seriously, and she derives a lot of pleasure in antagonizing him and teasing him the way she does. She has a lot of fun in that respect. Ultimately, I think she can’t quite put her finger on it, but there’s that element of ‘I want to get to know you better because you are such an enigma to me.’

Check out these new set of portraits promoting the third season of Game of Thrones.  There’s definitely a strong focus on Daenerys  Targaryen and Jon Snow, which makes sense as they are two of the best loved characters from the series.  Not to mention they look gorgeous in these portraits, as do Robb Stark and Ygritte, of course! You can find these and more in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly which is chock-full of Game of Thrones goodness!

Lindsey Stirling and Peter Hollens do Game of Thrones

If you haven’t heard of Lindsey Stirling before, she’s a violinist who does choreographed performances of some really cool things. In this case, she put on a white-haired wig and played like Daenerys Targaryen, stringing Ramin Djawadi’s Game of Thrones theme in the Red Waste!

We actually think she could really pass for Ygritte the wildling if she had red hair in real life. Do any of you see the resemblance to Rosa Leslie, who plays Ygritte? Maybe we’re crazy for thinking that!

Rose Leslie added to Game of Thrones panel as Lena Headey, Kit Harington bow out

Unfortunately, it looks as though Lena Headey, who plays Cersai Lannister, will not be able to attend SDCC this year.  Nor will our beloved Jon Snow, Kit Harington.  However, you’ll be able to see Rose Leslie as she has just been added!

From Cinema Blend:

Another day, another change-up to the panel for Game of Thrones at Comic-Con. And unlike the update we shared yesterday, this one doesn’t sound like a trade-off. One key cast member will not be appearing in the panel as scheduled, due to an injury.

Yesterday we learned that Lena Headey was unfortunately not going to be at the Comic Con panel for Game of Thrones due to a scheduling conflict. There was a bright side to that situation, as it was announced that Rose Leslie, who plays Ygritte on the HBO fantasy drama series, was set to fill the vacancy. Now it looks like Kit Harington will also not be attending SDCC for the Game of Thrones panel. The official GoT Twitter posted the following update…

So, unfortunately it looks like there will be no Jon Snow at the SDCC Game of Thrones panel, and there’s no word on anyone else coming in to fill his place. Hopefully Harington’s injury heals quickly and fully. From what the Hollywood Reporter says, it doesn’t sound like it’ll interfere with production on the series’ third season. He will definitely be missed by fans at this year’s Con though.

Here’s wishing Kit a speedy recovery!
